About the Book

Sirr-e-Dilbaran is an encyclopedia of islamic spirituality which explains Sufi concepts, discusses the significance of sufi terminology and throws light on the mysteries of divine love experienced by His friends. It removes misconceptions about Islam and Sufism and shows how Islamic mysticism and Islamic Sharia are not in conflict with each other but are two components of a whole. 

This selection comes from the english translation of Sirr-e-Dilbaran. The excerpts are of common interest, ranging from simple to complex. Some deal with higher spiritual planes, such as the "grades of being"; others relate to general subjects like faith; and still others focus on obscure issues like bait (oath of allegiance) and samma (spiritual music). 

The writer, Hazrat Syed Zauqi Shah (ra) is a distinguished sufi saint of the 20th century, well versed in both islamic traditions and modern learning.
